We are in the process of dry lining and re plastering a room. I have removed the old architrave from the door and cupboard. They were originally fitted prior to plastering. However I have read somewhere that it is easier to fit the architrave after plastering.
not an expert. But just finished building our house and would defo recommened fitting afterwards.
Our plasterer told us that he wouldnt get anything on door frames and they were destroyed and not easy to get off.
Do it afterwards it will be cleaner and easier and no benefit of doing it before.
Some people fit 'mock' door frames before plastering so that plasterer can plaster right up to the edge. Mock frames are usually made up of poor quality wood. Then carpenter removes mock frames and puts up real ones and architrave.
