It's hard to keep track of all the issues.

So EBS gave you back your tracker, a refund of the overcharge and 15% automatic compensation.

Did they dispute your claim for extra compensation?

Hi Brendan,

yes they did. Once they received our appeal they cherry picked parts of content and attempted to justify. EBS final position was zero extra compensation. Most of their justifications were just pure obstruction tactics.

What was the main reason for it? Presumably the hardship and embarrassment of being in arrears?

Hi Brendan,

appeals panel doubled our initial compensation (e.g. paid us same amount again due to numerous impacting issues over the years). We never fell behind in mortgage payments but sacrificed in nearly every other area.

Just wondering if the fact that AIB/EBS have conceded and put BW on a tracker would impact the AIB cohort?
 
No. The Appeals Panel judges each case on its merit.

Unless BW had some systemic issue which could be applied to others. But I have not heard of the Appeals Panel making any such ruling in AIB or in any other lender.
