Not sure how this has happened and we are working with our bank to confirm dates but our NPPR account is showing that although all fees were paid, there is interest of over €1,300 due.

I really don't understand it, each deadline occurred around other memorable events and I'm 99% certain all were paid on time (records will confirm if this is the case) but my query is just in case one or more was paid late.

To me it seems ridiculous that a charge based on self reporting can bring such high penalties. We are anxious to remedy the situation if indeed we do somehow owe the money but would hope that there is an appeals process, especially when all the fees have been paid. Anyone have any experience of this?

Are there multiple NPPR properties?

You need to list them separately ( a spreadsheet would be good) and set out the due dates for the NPPR tax.

Any payments you have made should have been receipted, but you could ckeck back on your bank statements.

What do you mean when you refer to your "NPPR Account"?

How have you been notified of the arrears?
The penalty for late or non payment is €20 per month so there should be details somewhere.

The relevant council should be able to clarify things for you.

One property only, OH's original house.

There is an online account per person, you log in to pay your fee. It shows money outstanding. The huge amount SDCC are claiming is due makes no sense. They were all paid.
