Any tax implications on gift from uncle?

I just have a query with regard to gift tax. My uncle has given me €7,000 towards a deposit on a house it was a loan at first that I would pay back in my own time but it seems I have to put it down as a gift for my morgage application as they will not accept it as a loan would this be right?

What I also want to know is will my uncle be taxed now or in the future for this amount.

Your uncle would not be taxed..You would but only if he was giving you
a far larger sum of money..
