Read about these fire alarms in a magazine and it sounds somewhat useful if its as good as its made out to be. The idea is you have your fire sensors spread around the house and a receiver beside your bed which sounds an alarm if one of the sensors is activated, thus reducing the risk of you sleeping through the alarm, which is something I worry about.
Has anyone seen/tried them or have an opinion on the idea?
If you have a standard mains smoke detector in your bedroom interlinked to others around the house then they will all go off in the event of a fire. Can't see anyone sleeping through that

We only have mains powered alarms in our bedroom, the landing and a heat detector in the kitchen and AFAIK they are not linked. Have battery powered alarms in most other rooms and would be concerned about not hearing these.
Agree it might be a gimmic but is there any better solution?
