Any monetary value in old car battery?

Cleaning out my garage I came across two old car batteries. Have these any scrap value and if so where can I sell them and if not is there somewhere where I can dispose of them safely?
 
Don't know about scrap value, but you may be able to bring them to your local recycling centre (my local recycling centre in Drogheda accepts vehicle batteries).
 
Your local scrap metal dealer may give you a few euro for them but it wont be anything like what they were worth years ago. As gipimann said you can bring them to most recycling centers for free. Be careful handeling them if they the old ones that the acid used be able leak out of, it is leathal stuff burn trough anything.
