I have a husband, he was paid off last year and now he works full-time in the north I don’t work, his income is 280£(after tax and PRSI) a week, we live in rented flat (rent =110euros a week) and I'm expecting our second child. Are we entitled to any help from social??? we applied for FIS but we got a letter that we don’t pay PRSI in Ireland so we cant get it? Does it apply to all social benefits??? Can we claim Basic Supplementary Welfare Allowance or Rent supplement ? Big thanx g.

You will not be eligible for SWA or Rent Supplement as your husband is in full time employment.

so even that my incom is only 280 a week and my rent is 110 I cant get any financial support?

I doubt it, especially if he works in another country! would you be entitled to SW welfare in the north? have you looked into that?

gogus24 dont get me wrong but your spouse has full time , paid employment , in another state were you, i presume pay their tax's etc and you want us to pay you as well, talk about wanting your cake and eating it!

Gogus24 have a look on [broken link removed]
you are not the only 'frontier worker' and there are agreement in relation to social welfare, taxation etc between countries
good luck
