Any avenue to appeal housing development

First off, I did not raise any objections at the planning stage of a development of houses opposite our house, on a main street, so I am prepared for the obvious answer !!
As the build has progressed, the houses are indeed, very high and are already blocking the light to the front of our, and other houses.
May I just ask are there any avenues at this late stage to pursue an objection ?
I am awaiting contact back from the council as it is a council development .

Are they higher than the planning permission allowed? If not, no chance. If they are you need to contact Local Authority to talk to their building compliance people.
You don't actually have a right to Light.
