Animal boarding

I have an assortment of pets that I need to have boarded in the summer. Can anyone recommend a boarding kennel and cattery (together)? Also need someone to board three smaller pets. I have a boarding kennel lined up but would prefer the dogs and cat to stay in same place if poss.

South Dublin/Kildare/Carlow/Wexford area.

I've googled which brought up two possibilites and I don't want to have someone come to the house as I wouldn't want to leave the dogs on their own overnight. Might be cheaper and less hassle though to offer someone a "free" holiday!

What are the smaller pets? (as in do they require specialised care - are they reptiles or anything unusual like that?)

Truthseeker: the smaller pets are a rabbit and guinea pigs. I've had friends agree to have them but I'm concerned such plans might fall through at the last minute.

Sueellen: That would probably be the best, I (only half) joking suggested to my friend that she come for a holiday. Thing is, my husband especially is very precious about our pets and would prefer they were looked after by "proffessionals". Not sure anyone would want to stay here for two weeks though, paid or not!

Bubbly Scot,
If you google 'small animal boarding' and limit the search to Ireland Only there is a list thrown up - some places do it alright - have a look to see if any of them are near enough to you, would suit you etc..

there is a list of recommended (as in recommended by members of the site) boarding facilities on IrishAnimals

I think I've found the perfect one, they board all pets...fingers crossed they come back and tell me they have space for the times we need!!

Sorry for the double post. Just to update. The one I got all excited about above proved too expensive. I blanched at the idea of paying 600 euro to someone to take care of two guinea pigs and a rabbit!
Anyway, just as I was working up to ask my friend to take the smaller animals a flier came through the door this morning. All the animals are now booked into a fabby "holiday home" who agreed to board them all for just the price of the cat and dogs.

Oh yes...and it's less than five minutes from my house! Happy to recommend it to anyone via PM.
