Just to clarify, she can request this from her MyWelfare account:She should check her Prsi record to see if these contributions are on her record.
She should be entitled to a deferred pension at 60 however the only way to find out is by contacting them directly
Those contributions indicate that she will qualify for a pension from an Post for all that period.
Pre the 1990 pension act, there was no statutory entitlement to a pension in leaving a job. Would be nice to hear of an employer who did allow pensions for leavers. Are you sure that someone with less than 5 years actual service would qualify for a deferred or preserved pension upon leaving service in the 1980s?
Good.A person with 2 years service can have a preserved pension.
I'm *just* old enough to vaguely remember the orange and white vans and trucks.Up to 1984 the employer for eircom and an post workers was the Dept of P&T.
Are you sure that someone with less than 5 years actual service would qualify for a deferred or preserved pension upon leaving service in the 1980s? This surprises me!
Thank you, that's fantastic informationstatement
