amtico - lino-type flooring

hi,

we're building our own home and at the flooring stage. we were going to tile everywhere, bedrooms etc. but i saw amtico (i think it was called) looks like tiles or wooden floor but is essentially fancy lino. anyone have any experience of this?

My parents have this floor in their kitchen and back hall & utility room. In the Kitchen it is tile effect, and a wooden floor effect in the hall/ utility.

I think they are pretty happy with it since they got it over 6 years ago. I looks well, and is hard wearing & low maintenance. It has the advantage of not being as cold as ties in the kitchen.

I know they got a special hover/ floor polisher too to keep in maintained.

As far as I am aware Karndean is similar to Amtico, but cheaper. That said, the quality may be not as good, just giving you another name to look at!
