I went to the UK around August 2003 and left December 2005. I did not live there full time. I went to Canada to work for two summers and I worked for two three month periods on the continent. I worked a lot in temporary jobs and I moved around a bit. I knew some employers did not pay my national insurance and I was skeptical about others. I have very few records from this time as I changed email address, lost some stuff once when moving house and do not have a crystal clear memory. Also, when I first went there I was accidentally given somebody else´s NI number. I never managed to sort this out or get the tax back they owed me. I no longer have this NI number but I have my own one.
I received my National Insurance records. It says for 04 to 05`You have contributions from Paid employment £240. National Insurance credits: 5 weeks` and then for 05 to 06 ´You have contributions from Paid employment £140` nothing about number of weeks. However my State Pension Summary says `You currently have 3 years on your record`.
After Dec 05 I worked on the continent for an employer who did not pay my contributions for nine months. Then I worked for one who did make my contributions for ten months. Am I eligible? I appreciate all help.
