VHI Alternative to VHI One Plan choice

Hi

I am 42 and my VHI One Plan Choice policy needs to be renewed. I have been quoted (just for myself), 1015 Euro.

I am healthy, have a pre-existing thyroid condition but don't ever need to claim on it.

Am wondering if this is the best policy for me or should i be shopping around to find something cheaper. Am mystified by all the plans out there and terrified to make a change which I might regret to save a few 100 euro. Interested to see what people think of this plan and if its right for me?

I recently (following advice on this site) got Laya Flex 500 - it has a high excess but provides access to the hi-tech hospitals which was key for me. I'm not bothered about day to day expenses, mine cost €650 this year.
