alloy wheel balance

Hi, Anyone know whether weights to balance alloy wheels should be on the inside of the wheels or the outside.

It depends on the wheels. Many alloy wheels use stick on weights that go in the middle of the rim.

They can go either inside or outside the rim.

For looks they are usually placed inside.

Hi, Thanks , The Ford dealer put the ugly weights on the outside to correct balance. Later I found the balance was still wrong and got rebalance with DTAS who put the weights on the inside. I thought myself that it did not make sense to ruin the looks of alloys by placing ugly lead weights on the ourside. After all, is'nt it for the looks we have alloys?
