Alicante to Valencia

Apart from car hire, has anybody travelled from Alicante airport to Valencia by public transport
 
I saw that but I'd like to hear from somebody who has actually done it! Reality and fiction aren't always the same!
 
Well it's a fairly specific journey so I'd reckon you'd be better off posting on a tripadvisor forum for the area.
