Alarm Monitoring

I have an alarm that I had monitored by one company but I cancelled the service with them.

Does anyone know if I can get the alarm reprogrammed to be monitored by another company?

I've tried eircom but they say I need a new system put in before they will monitor it. The alarm itself works well and I just need someone to monitor it.

Can anyone recommend a company that can help?

We have eircom and the reason why they wont unless you replace with them is because they want you to buy the alarm off them which i paid 900 euros for and then you pay the monitoring montrhly, but its there way of getting you to buy an alarm off them. Would you not feel comfortable just turning it on and off yourself? Im goin to be leaving eircom, and just get a fella to put one in and turn off and on myself and no more monthly bills. They also charge you for servicing of the alarm.

Just get the alarm set up to text/ring you or another keyholder whenever it goes off. It can then be reset over the phone or obviously after you turn up to check on your property.
