Hi
Ive an alarm on hse at moment, sensors on stairs, contacts on windows. It working fine now. It is set up that if I had a landline it will ring me to notify me its going off. I havent got a landline & prob wont be getting one either but Ive heard you can get a different card like a sim card (?) that will do same thing & you top it up.

Does anyone know if its possible to just change over to this type (change card in alarm box?) or does it involve a lot more? I just got new windows so had to get alarm refitted-new contacts etc so dont want to redo it all again (and i cant afford it).
I know- if I was thinking I shouldve looked into this beforehand

Yeah GSM digidialers are available and are relatively easy to fit.

Have a look at these two links for starters..........

If you tell me what type of alarm you have installed I will tell you what GSM will work with your alarm. They are expensive but will also give you remote access to the alarm for arming/disarming plus self monitoring.

Hi alt1, when you say self-monitoring, would that include a CCTV and online access.
I am looking for a system that will allow me to monitor a house online and notify me when an alarm is activated.
Sorry for hijacking this thread.

No, I am talking about self monitoring the alarm. There is a system that is on test at the moment that will cover all this but as yet there is nothing. The only thing you could do is install the alarm to send you a text plus install a DVR and connect it to the internet and dial in to view the cameras if the alarm activates.
