As far as I know it’s a debit card. Then you will have to ask AIB - what kind of card do you have - ATM only or ATM/Debit card?
There may be payments that are assimilated to cash withdrawals. € 1.80 = 15 x 0.12
Absolutely zero chance of cash back.Maybe you got cash back and the 12c applies to such transactions also?Stamp duty on financial cards
Stamp duty is charged on credit cards and charge cards annually. A transaction fee is charged on ATM withdrawals.www.citizensinformation.ie
If you use your card to buy stuff, you are charged 12c per transaction. If you use your card to take money out of an ATM, you are charged 12c per transaction. This is to an upper limit of €2.50 for ATM transactions, and €2.50 for other card transaction (like tapping, or chip&pin).Absolutely zero chance of cash back.
I’ve never seen this charge either.I have been charged €0.36 on my AIB current account. It says Stamp Duty on the transaction. Never got charged this before!
The 12c per ATM cash withdrawal with a €2.50 (ATM only card) or €5 (ATM and debit card) annual cap has been in force for 5+ years now so it's nothing new...These fees always existed, except it used to be a fixed fee per card/account per annum.
Credit card = 30 euro or 40 euro
Debit card = 5 euro
