AIB AIB 3.67% customers to get €1000 each

Hi. We also received the 1600+ amount. I called AIB and they are sending out an appeals pack too. What kind of documentation will they be looking for? I am keen to keep up to date with you all to see what your outcome is. We had to take a moratorium and interest only option at one point when I was on maternity leave. We could probably have afforded the mortgage if we were on a tracker so I think we have been impacted more than the compensation they have given. AIB have stated that lodging the money will not affect an appeal. Is this true? Thanks

Hi im totally new here so pls excuse any ignorance. I have received one of these letters with cheques. I have no idea where to go now or what to do . I am on a split mrtg ..will this impact me .. Just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction please ?? TIA

Got the letter also last week, my advice is to read through the posts here and you will get a sense of what applies to you, happy digging

We also received one of these letters yesterday from the AIB. Including Cheques for €1600. We have the 3.2 clause in our mortgage documents. We like the previous post are anxious to find out where to go next?

Hi, my wife and I received a cheque in the post today for 1600, we have clause 3.2 and were offered the prevailling tracker rate. This is obviously higher than their existing SVR. Our loan offer from AIB was drafted the 1st of October 2008, which was a fixed rate. I asked about tracker at the time and was told they dont offer them anymore. 9 days later they released the statement withdrawing trackers for new customers, what does that mean for me?

I received a letter yesterday from AIB offering me a tracker rate of 3.32%. I took out my mortgage in 2008 and initially fixed for 3 years at 5.15%. In December of that year a new SVR of 3.75% was applied to the mortgage. I inquired about the tracker rate at the time but was told it was no longer available. I can't find any mention of clause 3.2 anywhere in my documents but will request a copy of all documentation from the bank.

Another member who received the cheque in the post from AIB. Very surprised to receive this as I looked into this a number of years ago based on Harvestmoon's information on this forum and was advised by P. Kissane that I didn't have a case. I now feel on the back foot again as I seem to have missed the boat with regard to the group that got together in January. As others have requested, does this group have any advice on path to take for those of us who have just received this letter but are too late to join the group? Thanks

I know of 2 people to date who actually held a tracker rate of ECB+.6 & ECB+.9% margin before they fixed but did not drawdown on a tracker initially. They fixed just before AIB withdrew the tracker rate. AIB has now since enkoved the 3.2 clause to their favour in the contracts and offered a rate of ECB +3.32% although they explicity said & stated that anybody with the clause 3.2 never ever held a tracker rate as per their public statement in December 2017. This was also presented by Bernard Byrne in front of the oireachtas. It's an absolute disgrace they are getting away with this.

I too recieved a letter yesterday with a cheque and apologies! It makes me so mad to think we werent offered a tracker when we should of had & mistakes were made by d bank & we still have to suffer! What do I do now do i go to a solicitor,is that what everyone is doing in this same situation?

Hi Bungaro, Myself & my husband both got letters in March & the cheques for €1615. Could we please be added to the list as I would like to know more about how to follow this up. Thanks
