Age limit for driving a school bus .

Hello, My brother in law is driving a school bus since retiring from his previous employment, He is turning 70 soon and was preparing to stop working, He would prefer to keep working and someone told him the age limit for driving a school bus has been increased to 74 , Has anyone else heard about this, He is abroad at the moment and doesn't want to contact his boss for some reason, Thanks for any help.

Sadly untrue as of a fortnight ago but there is pressure on to scrap the compulsory retirement age.

You can have a bus or truck licence up to any age subject to a medical.The insurance beyond 70 might be an issue with some employers.

Under the new Programme for Government (PFG), Government has committed to "Carry out an independent assessment on the feasibility of removing the exclusion of drivers aged over 70 from the School Transport Scheme".
