In May 2008, I bought an apartment under the affordable scheme in Reuben street via Dublin City Council.
If I was to sell the apartment now would the clawback I have to pay Dublin City council be the original price paid in 2008 minus the sale agreed price now?

If you sell at an open market fair price of less than your purchase price,no claw back is due.

If you sell for more than you paid, but less than the original valuation(!),you owe the price achieved, less the price you paid.

Obviously, there is zero incentive to sell it for more than you paid for it,as every cent wrung out of the new purchaser goes to DCC(above the €230k ),but that's the system.
