I booked return flights last May for my family of 5 departing DUB - Prague - DUB for end of November '21 and Aer Lingus have just cancelled the return flight and put us on a flight same time, the next day ie 24 hours later.
They referenced my rights under EU Regulation 261/2004 which is typically confusing so am wondering what my options are with regard to additional costs for another nights accommodation.
It's really annoying as this is not weather or covid disruption & if I were to try to change flights to a day later the cost would be enormous - seems so unfair!
We just got a flight cancelled too for the end of October.
Having called them the put us on a flight 8hrs later than our original flight ,so a 8hr walk around Amsterdam airport
Not really. The consumer has the choice at time of purchase whether to forego various options such as full refund / no change fee for a much lower cost.
Back in the good days of my youth you could easily change your flight with a quick call to your travel agent at no fee - but you had paid £300+++ for your return flight to Heathrow.
Give me €50 flights anyday in exchange for giving up my right to change.
