Advice on setting up an odd job building maintenance company

I am looking for advice on getting a small building and property maintenance company up and running. I have the contacts in the trade and would intend to carry out most of the work myself. How would I go about getting the first few jobs off the ground. I guess that once thats out of the way, word of mouth should then play its part. Any ideas?
 
get insurance and advertise. work hard, be competive and in 18 months to 24 months you should be making money. one golden rule that has helped me build my business is do the work others won't do and treat clients the same regardless if the job is €10 or €100k.

Small awkward jobs can lead to bigger things. reputation is key.
