Has anyone had experience of the above named course in Dublin Business School? Thinking of doing it to give myself accreditation for project management experience to date.

I'm doing this course myself at the moment, and pretty much for the same reason you seem to be.

If you already have the project management experience, then you probably get that much new or extra out of it - possibly what you know, but in a structured fashion.

I can recommend on that basis.
 
I'm considering doing this course in Feb, would you really recommend it? Do you think it would provide sufficient preparation for the PMI certification as the DBS website suggests or would more study be required?

If DBS are serious about this, they must have done some serious work, e.g. mapping the course content to the PMP exam sections. Ask them to show you this work, and to show you their track record of past pupils who took the PMP exam.
