Administrator rights

I'm hoping someone can help me with this:
I need to install some software on my PC with administrator rights. When I log in at the start, I do so as the Administrator and Administrator is entered under the Administrators group in User and Passwords in the Control Panel - does this mean I have administrator rights?
If it was a pomegranate I'd know exactly what to do

If you are logged in as administrator then you have administrative rights during that login. You can also add other users into the administrator group if you want to grant them admin rights.
