What about considering a chimney pipe? It might be a better/cheaper/easier to fit alternative to building a chimney.

Adding or removing a chimney falls under exempted development , it will however have to comply with all current building regs.

You'll likely need to get a few builders out to survey the site before you will get accurate numbers.

Building a chimney is not the most attractive job for a builder so expect high quotes....
