Would this be a good course for someone who works in accounts for 10years, has no qualifications, never did accountancy for Leaving Cert. I dont know how to read accounts, and I want a better understanding of them.
Each month I just enter same details into accounts for depreciation etc. have an accountant once a year for about a day when doing audit accounts, and dont get enough time to ask these questions. I dont want to go spending alot of money on something that you'd need a degree to understand.

Have a look at the Diploma in Financial Management

Have a look at the Diploma in Financial Management. Both courses are from the ACCA.

Re: Have a look at the Diploma in Financial Management

There is (well was) two different Accountant Technician Institutes

One linked to the ACCA, AAT and one not IATI

There is little difference between both course, but due to the links there is different exemptions allowed if you were to go on to one of the accountancy bodies, ie ACA ACCA CPA CIMA

There is a very level of accountancy understanding when finished

I done IATI, not as good for exemptions when starting ACCA but I studied CPA so wasnot a problem for me

You should be able to start an IATI course through one of the VEC colleges eg Colaiste Ide in Finglas
I done my course 10 years ago and it cost £200 pa
Good courses and usually small numbers, ideal I feel

Much better than some of the larger pay colleges in city centre
