In 2008, I gave my account a cheque for e72,000 to give to Revenue with completed C.G.T. Declaration. He sent the cheque into Capital Taxes, but never sent in the Declaration. I got a letter this morning, two years later, requesting the Declaration. My solicitor has the dates two years ago when he sent the details of the house sale to my accountant. Now my solicitor had to give me all the details again as files are all packed away due to house move. Isn't this sort of behaviour very remiss for an accountant? I talked to my accountant today but he was totally blase about it. Any suggestions and comment welcomed.
