Just wondering if anyone knows how to become a full member of ACCA. I know you become an affiliate on completion of examinations but how do you obtain full membership?
Is it solely down to work experience in an actual practice?
And is that it? I presume you need to hand in journal also and that will be that so to speak? Have they got any limitations? Such as permission to sign off accounts?

You need to complete a student training record detailing what you have done and how this conforms to the standard competnences laid down by the ACCA. This must be signed off by a suitable qualified accountant who has supervised your work, for the last 3 years.
After that, before signing off on accounts i.e. giving an audit opinion, you need to obtain a valid practicing certificate. This only comes after 3 years of post membership experience in practice, completion of a audit course and some further small audit exams.
Did you just pass get your results today? If so, well done, they aint easy
I didn't have to submit my training record, just ticked boxes on a competence sheet and submit along with completed reference sheets signed by previous employers to substantiate my 3 years experiance...that was 5 years ago.

Snap, was a bit pissed off because I'd kept my training record up to date from day one through many temping jobs and actually had nearly 6 years experience before I got my ass in gear to apply for membership
