Hi! Just wondered if anyone thinks it is a bit strange and ominious for ABS unit to fail in 2007 car with only 37km on the clock. The car is a 1.9 tdi Skoda Octavia. I am just wondering if this is a foretaste of things to come, and whether it would be worth trading in. I need a good, reliable car, as I do a lot of travelling around the country, and usually have the children in the car. The ABS unit is covered by the warranty, but that's not the whole issue. Any thoughts on this matter, greatly appreciated.

In regard to the OP's question - If you are satisfied that the garage has rectified the fault, then (if it was me) I'd likely hold onto the car (assuming you are otherwise satisfied with it).

I don't think it's a sign of things to come

I think you should not make any rash decisions on this. You've got a good reliable car and it should give you trouble-free motoring. There are going to be random failures in just about every make/model or car. As long as it's not an alfa it should be a once off

Just for reference, was the failure actually mechanical? The reason I ask is that I had ABS warning lights all over my VW Diesel but it was actually only brake switch.
