About:blank

Hi

Am aware of "about:blank" as a homepage hijacker but have also seen e.g. pages printed from databases, from an apparently malware-free PC (and no evidence of hijack), with the words "about:blank" printed on the bottom left of the page.

Does this mean anything? Should I be concerned?

about:blank can simply mean you have selected the option "Use Blank" as your homepage in IE7.

about:blank is just a blank new page... its used by pages becuase they can fill it with javascript...

every browser has one... and its used by loads of legit sites too...
