Abbey Wood, Midleton, Co.Cork

Anyone had a look at this new development in Midleton? Looks very nice [broken link removed]

It's a next phase of Castlerock which are very nice. Would appreciate any comments.

Have a booking deposit on an F2 at the front of the scheme near the school. Am currently renting in Castlerock. The houses are lovely and the estate is finished very well. I have also visited other Castlelands developments in Mallow and Carrigaline and the houses are top quality. In my opinion they are good value too compared to say Maple Woods in Ballinacurra (Midleton).

However, I think I am going to try to buy second hand in Castlerock as I do not think I can wait 12 to 18 months for the Abbey Wood houses to be completed. I reckon Abbey Wood will be a building site for at least 5 years whereas Castlerock is finished.

Put a booking deposit on A1 type. Would love to go for it but feeling a bit nervous about the market. Would have to sell my current house in order to afford this. However would probably have to sign contract on the new one before selling my own. My fear would be not being able to sell it in the current climate or having to sell it for less than I need to. I would hate to leave it pass but everywhere you look these days (newspapers, TV, stock market), it's all bad news with most places saying that 2008 is going to be a very bad year for property and the economy in general. Any thoughts?
