There are 2 threads on the first page of the tax section both called "Expat tax advise", and searching the word "expat" on the site throws up 119 results.

This might be the wrong subforum to post this, but is it possibly worth setting up a subforum solely for expats? Being a non-resident gives us completely different options and restrictions when it comes to investing, banking and taxation.

As a non-resident that has been actively reading up on my optimal way to invest while avoiding paying tax, it has been frustrating to find a good source of information that is applicable to me (and lots of other Irish citizens but non tax residents I assume).

    A very interesting idea.

We already have this forum in the non-financial area, which has not been busy. Have people stopped emigrating?

    Emigration and the Irish abroad
    Job hunting, tax, housing etc

What about moving this to the financial area and renaming it? Something like

    "Expats and emigration"
Tax, banking, investment and job hunting

Sounds like a good idea to test out as it must be hard for people living abroad to keep on top of financial matters back home.
