I'm looking to get a new house wired, anyone know how electricians price a job, i.e how much to install a double socket or a standard light with the switch.
This info would help when deciding on how many sockets etc to install. At the moment I am looking at about 40 double sockets and about 27 standard lights. If I was to put spot lights, how do they cost this ( not taking into account the cost of the spots themselves )
you work out roughly the hours it will take to do the job and multiply by your hourly rate, this will cover the labour.Either the customer buys the materials or the sparks will itemise them and give a material price to the customer.
Have a 1970s 3-bed semi-D. Had a total re-wire done last year including changing out trip switch, and immersion heater. Took about 2 weeks and cost €4800
