I brought a case 7 years ago in the Family court against my wife. The matter was dealt with quickly and was kept very private not only in the courts but also from the public. We remain married but are now just friends (we have put our differences aside).
I write this because I am the Plaintiff in a High Court case and the defendants are using this family matter from 7 years ago in a part of their defence. I have not employed a solicitor due to the costs involved. My question is can the defendants enter a defence like this and can the family law matter be discussed in an open court?
The defendants solicitors are the solicitors that acted for my wife in the family law case 7 years ago and that is how they know about the case.
