A good Accounting for Small Business Book

Can anyone recommend a good cover-all book to teach a Small Business Director the necessary bookkeeping and accounting procedures that are involved in managing a new business?
Preferably one that covers the Irish system? I know, this seem like a big all-encompassing request, but there is bound to be one out there that deals with the day-to-day needs that every small business has?

It is probably best to engage a local accountant/tax advisor
 
I do plan to engage an accountant. However I would like to learn as much as I can about the procedures in the meantime myself.

Can you recommend a good book that deals with the Irish Tax System and Bookeeping for the small business?
