56 Week Tax year

A friend of mine has received their P60 which shows a 56 insurable weeks. She is employed as a nurse in a hospice. Is this unusual and will her credits cover this. I don't know what her last payslip showed.

I've seen a 53 week, a 27 fortnight but never a 56 week perhaps a call to the payroll dept.

did she change jobs during the year. sometimes the weeks get messed about a little if that happens, although usually it'd be a week or two at the max. sounds strange to be honest.

It looks to me like a 13-month tax year: December 2011 salary paid in Jan 2011; December 2012 salary paid in Dec 2012.
