3rd level-free fees

I started an undergraduate course last September, but deregistered on 31 October. I had been told that if I left by this date, I would not have to pay fees if I do another course next year. However, I recently heard that this rule has been changed and that I may be liable for half fees. Does anyone know about this?

If you officially de-registered and have that in writing from your College, this will confirm that the College did not claim fees from the state for your attendance.

If/when you resume 1st year studies in Sept 08 you produce the written confirmation of your de-registering to your College (a different College I assume) and you will then be entitled to free fees.

You can not "assume" you were de-registered or that everything will be grand. Get the confirmation from the College you started with and if you know where you wish to start studying in Sept 08 contact them to smooth things out in advance.
