3rd Level College and repeat exam results.

I have just heard from a family member that one of their children repeated one exam at the end of August and as yet has not received his results. The college told him and a number of other students that failed as well(6 in total) to attend lectures even though they can't register. They are now into their third week and still don't know if they have passed or failed their repeated exams. Anyone heard of this happening before. This is their final year of an honours degree course.

Which college is it? Perhaps the college were waiting to see what the course numbers were like? Shouldn't happen

This would only happen if there was a question mark over the Exam paper (i.e. possible plagarism or something). Alternatively they might not have paid the registration fee for the year in which the Exam was sat.
Any reason beyond that would be irregular.

The student needs to contact the exams office of their college, they will not discuss results with parents. I sat exams in August in an NUI and results were accessible online on the first week of September.

Its common that this may happen for a few days - often the time between the supplemental exams and the start of term is quite tight. However 3 weeks sounds very odd. The student should contact the exams office directly and ask for details of what is happening.

From the OP the student has already made contact, no mention of the parents looking for the exams resutls by the OP.
