Health Insurance 35 yr old female - can you please recommend a health insurance provider and plan?

I'm currently in good health but due to a family history of cancer, I'm considering taking out insurance.
The most important thing is quick access to specialists and/or necessary scans/preventive procedures. I've learned all providers cover pretty much the same hospitals but specialists vary, so I was hoping to get a plan that offers great specialists. Looking for something around 1000 a yr.

Could you please recommend a provider and a plan?

I've read a previous comment to a female user of around the same age recommending Laya. Could you please explain the term "day case excess"? And by "consultant" do you mean a specialist?

I'd recommend consulting a broker like Cornmarket to recommend a plan for you - I have no connection with them but found them helpful to cut through the many options available from each provider and and narrow it down.
