3 mobile and Skype

Hi,

Thinking of going to 3 mobile and one of the big selling points is unlimited access to Skype, and therefore cheap international calls. however, need to check something first. My current phone can access the 3G network (and when in coverage a little 3G appears on the screen) but it appears that there is only poor 3G coverage in my house. 3 mobile say it wont matter for calls as it apparently migrates to another service (I'm not technical so dont know what that is). But does anyone know what the story with Skype is? Do you need to be on the 3G network for Skype or will it be ok on whatever the other network coverage is?

This does not sound right, but not sure how else to explain it. Hope someone can help.

The fact that you only get poor 3g reception from your current provider in your house is irrelevant as all the phone companies have separate networks.As to whether skype works when on roaming,I'll check when I go out of three coverage and report back.

No it doesn't let you make skype calls when roaming.You need to get a mate round who has a three phone and check the signal.
