When renewing my home insurance I notice that one of the conditions attached is that I have a 3 lever Mortice Deadlock on my outside doors.
Should I purchase one of these myself and get a locksmith to put it in place or should I let him to the complete job?
I live in the DunLaoghaire/Blackrock area. Does anyone have a recommendation for a locksmith in the area and how much should I expect to pay for lock and fitting?

I have a standard Yale lock on my front door. I also have a second Chubb lock. Does the Chubb lock count as a 3 lever mortice deadlock?

You could always try Brown bros in Dun Laoghaire.

All depends on what lock you currently have, and how handy you are really. If in doubt, get the pros in as a poorly fitted lock could compromise the security of the door.

Chubb are a manufacturer, they make lots of different lock types, including mortice locks. Again, Yale are also manufacturers of many types of lock, I'm guessing you mean a nightlatch. Given the two locks, the lower one would normally be a mortice lock, check the lock plate to see if it states it is a 3 or 5 level or has a BS kite mark.
