No one will take this type of stuff anymore in Ireland and its been like that for some time. People only want new buggies, cots etcMaybe a local free community Fb page or adverts free too take away.
Not sure where you are based but my local charity shops have never turned away bags of donated items. Free cycle / local community facebook pages are equally successful.Has anyone any names of charities that collect 2nd hand goods for sending on to families in need in the 3rd world? Any organisations that maybe fill containers and ship them abroad to orphanages, schools etc?
I have a shed full of various children's bits and bobs, all in very good condition and it would be a shame to have to dump them but that's what going to happen in Spring.
- sturdy baby buggies )bug brand names) in very good condition
- cots
- children's bikes
- any amount of toys
- children's clothing
The charity shops here won't take most of that stuff I've listed. No one is interested on sites like done deal etc either.
We've always looked after our stuff and they've been passed through our kids but we've reached the end of the line!

Have you tried SVP?The charity shops here won't take most of that stuff I've listed.
That is actually not entirely true. We have a local freecycle group in my town and everything (and I mean everything) gets passed on. It's a particularly environmentally conscious group but there are plenty of people like that out there. No one will take this type of stuff anymore in Ireland and its been like that for some time. They didn't want anything from me that wasn't still in the wrapper.SVDP in my area were happy to take most of these things off us in the past. Only thing they wouldn't accept was car seats for kids on grounds of health and safety.
I found them fine, they even sent a van around to collect a couple of bulky kids things but I think a lot depends on the volunteers and staff in each shopThey didn't want anything from me that wasn't still in the wrapper.
