12v or 230v spot lights

hi folks ,thinking of getting spot lights installed in a room . just want to know the diffreence between using 12v spot lights or using 230v light..which is best and why????
 
I had 12V spot lights and have just changed over to 230v GU10's. I found it very hard to find energy efficent light bulbs for the 12v's and there is a whole range available for the GU10's
 
yes the 12volt are cheaper to run there is a fluorescent that will fit in that fixture now that is very cheap to run go to your local trade only electricain supply, dont worry they only say trade only to keep the dirt bags out, you will find many choices there
