Just tried online to get a quote for buildings insurance from 123.ie & upshot was "unable to quote" before I waste my time ringing them - has anyone else come across this? It was just for ordinary house & contents insurance.
 
Just from looking at their site a few days ago, I would recommend trying other sites as their insurance rates seem to have shot up almost 2 fold from what they were last year. That was for car insurance anyways. My quote had almost doubled, even with an extra year of NCB.
 
Thanks I will, but even my existing quote for a 3 bed semi in county cork has gone up to nearly 450E, which seems very steep to me. I'll shop around ok.
 
Just found out 123 & no nonsense won't quote as we are in a subsidence area - surely they can't refuse a whole area - or can they?
 
Of course they can refuse a whole area. Its within their criteria. There is no obligation for an insurer to provide a quotation.
