1.6 Diesels

I am thinking of buying a new car (in the UK as it happens) but am looking for a 1.6 diesel. I know that the Ford Focus, Volvo S40 and Citroen C5 all do the 1.6 diesel. Is there any others out there?

Of those three is there any preference? Obviously the price will differ but am not too worried about that. I am looking for reliability and good resale value.

I am leaning toward the Volvo but would liek to know if anyone has had any issues with them etc etc.
 
The Pugeot 407 has the same engine. Both the Focus and Volvo are going to be alot smaller than the C5 or 407.
 
Ford did a deal with PSA (Pugeot / Citroen) to supply ther diesel engines. The S40, Focus and Mazda 3 are all related in that they are based on the Focus platform.
 
Agreed the S40 and Focus would eb smaller then the C5 or 407 but will the C5 lose it's value faster?
 
In the UK? Deffo. You'd be as well to get a pre registered one from one of those car supermarkets or internet dealers.
