€3,000 for 3 years, best option?

I have €3k (kids money) that I want to put on mid-long term deposit/fund. What's my best secure option. I'd like 5% PA minimum
 
Why not look into an post savings certificates, after three years you get 8% interest and it's DIRT free. Have a look on the website www.anpost.ie and click on the personal customers tab
 
Rabo at 5% per annum is a much better option than An Post's 8% spread over three years.
 
An Post rates are pretty poor these days even if they are fixed, state guaranteed and tax free. 8% over 3 years is a mere 2.6% CAR or the equivalent of 3.25% gross CAR on an account subject to DIRT. Check out the best buys forum linked by CCOVICH above for much better deposit rates.
 
the ango irish bank gives 4.25% each year!!! this is a very good safe option
