Just came across this site which might be of interest to those who want, for whatever reason, to replace or substitute other (often free/open source) applications for those from Microsoft that are normally used.
 
Just checked this site and the lists at the bottom are very cool. Links to free applications, everything that you want but didn't want to pay for. Very interesting....
 
The icons at the top of the page are also links to the same categories of alternatives.
