Hi,
A mate of mine is more than likely setting up a museum / tourist attraction in an old terraced property , current estimate 209 years old. Its a really basic old dark cramped property, in a sidestreet of a country town. The furniture has to be small....the front room downstairs is 6ft 6 by 9 ft 5 inches. The door going in to the room is 5 ft 6 by 2 ft 2 so it has to fit through that. Has to be seen to be believed. The extraordinary thing about the cottage is that it and the 2 adjoining cottages were valued by a lending institution in Jan 2005 at €1,410,000. The total site area, of all 3 terraced properties together, was an eleventh of an acre. Thats 17 million euro an acre, the highest known (by far) price for property outside of Dublin. It will be turned in to a tourist attraction / museum now, a symbol of celtic tiger imprudent lending / bank mismanagement, with a flashback to how life was in pre-famine times. A good contact in the media will help with p.r. but best wait until the time is right.

The furniture we're hoping to buy, borrow or beg has to be very basic, so its in keeping with the rest of the property. Nothing from a medium or big house. A photo of an example of other woodwork in the house can be emailed to anyone interested e.g the main internal door downstairs is half an inch thick, really roughly made - you would see better on an old garden shed. Its so awful its brilliant. Mannequins have been sourced already. Anyone know suppliers of suitable furniture? All help appreciated.
