Hi all, I'm looking at buying a business from a friend who is looking to sell up early next year. He is not interested in offering any seller financing so I'm in a position where I need to borrow to fund the acquisition. The business is profitable, has stable cash-flows and has accounts for...

Can a PRSA invest in property?

Thanks! I'm not finding much info out there about this. Is this similar to a SSAS/SSAP where a trustee is required? Or are there significant differences that I should be aware of?

Can a PRSA invest in property?

Good afternoon all. I'm wondering if it's possible to allocate a portion of of pension funds inside a PRSA towards investing in property? If so, can the investment be made directly, or is it only available indirectly via the likes of REITS (or both)? Thanks!

Very helpful replies, thanks to all! I have a follow-on question that just occurred to me to ask... The company has two directors. One of the directors has a minority shareholding of just 1%, another with 99%. With all else being equal (salary, length of service etc), are both directors...

Contributions for director with no salary

Thanks Gordon. Is there a minimum salary that must be paid in order to start funding a pension? For example, if the director were to receive a nominal salary of say €5k/yr could the company then contribute to the directors PRSA? The Director has been working part-time (~15-20hrs/wk) in the...

Irish Properties worth €1m... Time to diversify?

I feel like I'd have trouble pulling the trigger on any equity investments tbh, whether that was an ETF, investment trust, individual stocks or combination of same. We are pretty risk averse by nature and having seen the markets pull back over the past few months is scary.

Empty Property.. payment of mortgage while for sale . options

Where is the property and what is market value? Depending on where its located will depend on how quickly you can offload it. Even in Dublin in an affordable price range, you'll need minimum 3 months once it's listed before it's sold! Longer if it's in a slower part of the country. You could...

    Crowdcube investing

Interested to hear people's thoughts on the Crowdcube platform of equity investments in non-public businesses. I don't get why someone would invest as I see no way of getting funds back without the company being sold, or publicly listed on a stock exchange. Thoughts? https://www.crowdcube.com
